Policies & Conditions

We are so excited you are joining the CCAA community! We know how busy you are, and we really appreciate you taking the time to fill out the forms in our registration package to get us off to a good start.

Tuition
1. All payments are processed by pre-authorized credit cards or auto-drafted from checking accounts on the first of the month. Private lessons are $60 per a lesson for weekly 30 minutes virtual or in-person lessons at our location. Tuition is never prorated for missed lessons. Tuition does not include any retail teaching materials such as books or instruments.

Cancellations and Makeups
2. For any lessons missed by an instructor, the Academy will attempt to provide a substitute instructor. If a substitute instructor is unavailable, a private make-up lesson with the instructor will be promptly scheduled. For any lesson missed by a student, the Academy holds hour-long group make-up classes every month. The classes are held between the hours of 9am and 5pm. To sign up for a make-up class, please choose a class at Group Make Up Class Form/Calendar and fill out the form on our website under Student Resources.

Withdrawal Policy
3. Students must fill out a withdrawal form on our website found under Student Resources by the 15th of the month they want to be the last month.

Number of Lessons per Month
4. Your monthly tuition will depend on the number of lessons you take every month. We will charge your card on the first of every month for the month ahead. We will be closed for all major holidays for which you will not be charged. Please check our yearly calendar on the website (https://chevychaseartsacademy.com/calendar) for holiday information.

Summer Vacation
5. The CCAA operates year-round and does not close for the summer. We are happy to offer unlimited make-ups for our students as they are held every month. If you are taking a month off for vacation and want to resume the next month, your payment is still due on the first of the month to reserve your lesson space. We aim to be as accommodating as possible, but since we are a growing academy, we are unable to make personal accommodations based on the vacation plans of an individual student. The lessons for the month you miss can be made up once you return from vacation at any time for as long as you are enrolled in the program.

Care of Students
6. While we do our best to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, the school is not responsible for providing before and after care for students. Parents with children under the age of eight must remain in the school waiting room, or in their car/near the entrance during the classes.

Open Door Policy
7. Parents are always allowed to sit in on lessons. We have an open door policy for all lessons!

 Guest Instructors Policy
8. Chevy Chase Arts Academy reserves the right to assign guest teachers as necessary to ensure continuity of instruction. Please note that while we prioritize consistent scheduling with your selected instructor, there may be occasions when a guest teacher will conduct a lesson without prior notification. By registering for lessons, you acknowledge and accept this arrangement as part of our commitment to providing a quality learning experience.

 Inclement Weather Policy
9. In the event of weather emergencies, our academy has implemented a policy to ensure the safety and the continuity of lessons for our students. During such emergencies, we will transition to online private Zoom lessons, maintaining the regular lesson schedule. In situations where either the teacher or the students are unable to establish an internet connection, we will arrange for a private makeup lesson at a mutually convenient time, subject to studio and teacher availability. This approach guarantees that our students' learning experiences remain uninterrupted despite adverse weather conditions.
